Off Gardens
Off Gardens explores contemporary Iranian history with and through the numerous gardens as heterogeneous heterotopic places. A garden has its own time-space. It is always in motion, growing or falling. It moves bodies within itself and directs events in and out of itself; not just as a backdrop, but as an agent of action, of personal or social change..

In a performance space, Off Gardens uses archival material, whether from personal, accidental, alternative, or institutional archives, home movies, poor quality amateur recordings, and speculative narratives, employing documentary and fictional forms of writing a memoir-letter essay, inspired by sound and video collage and film montage as methods.
